Our Classroom Human Rights and Responsibilities 1. We have the right to be treated kindly and to treat others with kindness in our classroom. This means that we will communicate appropriately with each other, respect each other’s privacy, not make fun of others, and not bully one another. 2. We have the right to be trusted and to trust others in our classroom. This means that we will not cheat, lie, or steal. We understand that if we do something to lose that trust, we must earn it back. 3. We have the right to learn in a quiet atmosphere in our classroom. This means that we will not shout, yell, or interrupt other’s learning, and we will talk at the appropriate times. 4. We have the right to hear ideas and share our own ideas in this classroom. This means that we will not interrupt others when they’re speaking, value everyone’s opinion, and take risks when presenting our own thoughts. 5. We have the right to take care of our property – both in class and outside. This means that we will ask to borrow supplies from our classmates, pick up after ourselves, and value our belongings as well as each others.
